As a mental health treatment administrator, father and grandfather of two adults on the autism spectrum, I know firsthand the impact a safe home environment and high-quality care can have for someone with I/DDs. Stable housing is a vital part of a client’s care plan. I’m proud to serve at an organization with a long history of serving in an equitable and dignified manner.

I’m proud to serve at this organization that prioritizes shelter, support and stability. Allowing for greater independence and self-sufficiency is crucial for this segment of our community. Parkview provides sustainability and that extra boost to day-to-day life.

As an advocate for financial empowerment and wellbeing, I strongly believe that affordable, stable housing can change lives –particularly for individuals with I/DDs. I am continually impressed by Parkview’s homeownership programs and proactive efforts to help all Washingtonians achieve housing stability.

My daughter Melanie, now in her thirties, has required full time, line-of-sight care her entire life. I know, firsthand, of Parkview’s invaluable services and support; the decisions this board makes dramatically improves the lives of many and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.

I was a counselor during grad school at Parkview’s Capitol Hill Group Home. I gained so much from that experience. I learned about respect; respect for clients, our community and each other. Giving back as a board member, while advocating for people with disabilities and encouraging others to join me, is the least I can do.

I’m honored to bring my nonprofit, financial, and legal knowledge to the Parkview board. Their ambitious multi-faceted approach toward solving this complex housing issue requires persistence as well as a specialized knowledge of inclusive, stable housing solutions for a drastically under-served community.
